Safari tent, chalet, mobile home or pitch: our tips for choosing the right nature holiday

Do you dream of a peaceful holiday in the Tarn, surrounded by greenery, but are still undecided between a safari tent, a wooden chalet, a mobile home or a traditional camping pitch?

The choice of accommodation plays an important role in setting the tone for a holiday. Some families are primarily looking for the comfort and practical facilities of a fully equipped holiday home. Others want to experience the spirit of camping, sleep as close to nature as possible, or give their children a more exotic experience.

At Le Rousieux Campsite, in Serviès in the Tarn, there are several options to help you enjoy your holiday your way. Mobile homes, wooden chalets, safari lodges and camping pitches welcome couples, families and outdoor enthusiasts to a peaceful, leafy and family-friendly setting.

Here are our tips to help you understand the differences between these types of accommodation and choose the one that best suits your needs.

The Tarn: an ideal destination for a nature holiday

Situated in Occitanie, the Tarn is a destination particularly well-suited to travellers seeking nature, tranquillity and wide open spaces. Its landscapes alternate between lush green hills, forests, rivers, charming villages and remarkable natural sites.

A holiday in the Tarn offers a more peaceful break, away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist resorts, whilst still providing plenty of opportunities for sightseeing and activities nearby.

From Le Rousieux Campsite, you can easily set off to explore Castres, from Albi, by Lautrec, from the Sidobre, from the Land of Plenty or even the landscapes of the Montagne Noire. This means you can alternate between day trips, days by the pool and relaxing at the campsite.

The campsite’s natural setting is also ideal for an outdoor holiday. With its trees, wide open spaces, leafy pitches and family-friendly atmosphere, it allows you to get back to basics: taking your time, sharing simple moments and making the most of your holiday.

What is a glamping holiday?

The word ‘glamping’ is a portmanteau of ‘glamour’ and ‘camping’. The idea is simple: to recapture the spirit of camping, a sense of being close to nature and the pleasure of sleeping in a change of scenery, whilst enjoying a higher level of comfort than with a traditional tent.

Glamping is particularly appealing to holidaymakers who want to enjoy a different kind of experience without necessarily having to do without proper bedding, a well-furnished space or a pleasant terrace.

It’s an excellent option for families wanting to introduce their children to camping, for couples looking for a unique getaway, or for travellers who enjoy unconventional accommodation.

In the Tarn, glamping It all makes perfect sense. The natural landscapes, unspoilt villages and peaceful atmosphere of the department lend themselves very well to this sort of holiday.

At Camping Le Rousieux, the safari lodges offer just that: an adventurous atmosphere, a natural setting and more comfort than simply sleeping under a canvas tent.

The safari tent: a unique way to stay and experience something different in the Tarn

A safari tent is the ideal accommodation for holidaymakers looking for a more unique experience than a stay in a traditional mobile home.

It immediately brings to mind adventure, outdoor holidays, a change of scenery and long summer evenings spent on the terrace. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a unique holiday in the Tarn whilst staying at a family-friendly, reassuring campsite.

Unlike a traditional tent, a safari lodge offers a fully fitted space. There’s no need to bring all your own kit or set up camp on arrival. You’ll still experience the spirit of camping under canvas, but with a more comfortable and practical set-up.

This type of accommodation is particularly popular with families with children. Sleeping in a safari tent becomes an adventure in its own right and plays a big part in creating holiday memories.

The safari lodge is also ideal for couples who want to escape their everyday lives, get closer to nature and enjoy a truly exotic break.

The wooden chalet: the perfect balance between nature and comfort

A wooden chalet is an excellent option for travellers looking for comfortable accommodation whilst still enjoying a genuine outdoor atmosphere.

With its cosy feel and the way it blends into the campsite’s surroundings, the chalet instantly gives you that holiday feeling. The wood creates a warm, authentic and exotic atmosphere, which is particularly pleasant on a campsite surrounded by greenery.

Unlike a safari tent, a chalet is a fully enclosed and more secluded form of accommodation. It is therefore better suited to holidaymakers who want to feel as though they are staying in a small holiday home whilst still enjoying the camping atmosphere.

It offers a good level of comfort, with a well-fitted interior, separate sleeping areas (depending on the model), a kitchenette and an outdoor terrace.

A wooden chalet can be an attractive option at the start or end of the season, when temperatures are cooler. It is also ideal for families who love the countryside but prefer to stay in traditional accommodation.

The mobile home: a tried-and-tested choice for family holidays

Mobile homes remain one of the most popular types of accommodation at campsites. Practical, comfortable and functional, they are particularly well suited to the needs of families.

It offers a layout similar to that of a home: separate bedrooms (depending on the model), a living area, a fully fitted kitchen, a bathroom and an outdoor terrace.

This way of organising things makes everyday life easier, particularly when travelling with young children. Meals can be prepared on the spot, belongings are easily tidied away, and everyone can stick to their own routine.

Le Rousieux Campsite offers several categories of mobile homes, suitable for couples, families and larger groups. You can therefore choose based on the number of people, the size you require and the facilities you’d like.

Mobile homes are particularly recommended for holidaymakers who want to enjoy the atmosphere and activities of the campsite without compromising on their usual standards of comfort.

The campsite: for lovers of the great outdoors

For some holidaymakers, camping is all about staying in a tent, a caravan or a motorhome. In that case, a pitch remains the most authentic option.

Choosing a pitch allows you to enjoy plenty of freedom and live in tune with the outdoors. Meals are eaten al fresco, the children naturally make the most of the campsite’s facilities, and each day begins surrounded by nature.

The pitches at Camping Le Rousieux are suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes, set in lush green surroundings. Depending on availability and the nature of their stay, campers can make use of various areas within the campsite.

This option is particularly suitable for travellers who already have their own equipment, families who are used to camping, and people who enjoy simple, friendly holidays.

Why choose a campsite?

To rediscover the traditional spirit of camping

Sleeping in your own tent or travelling with your caravan allows you to enjoy the great outdoors to the full.

To keep their budget under control

A campsite is generally the most affordable option for a stay of several days in the Tarn.

To enjoy greater freedom

Campers organise their space and daily routine according to their own habits.

To spend more time outdoors

This solution naturally encourages you to make the most of the campsite’s facilities and spend more time with your family.

What sort of accommodation should you choose for a holiday with children?

The best accommodation depends, above all, on the children’s ages and your holiday habits.

For a practical holiday with young children, a mobile home is often the most comfortable option. The separate bedrooms, kitchen area and bathroom make it easy to stick to your usual routine.

The wooden chalet offers a similar level of comfort, with a more natural and cosy atmosphere. It is ideal for families who are looking for fully equipped accommodation, but with a bit more character.

As for the safari tent, it turns a holiday into a real adventure. It’s particularly well suited to children who love the outdoors and who’ll be delighted to tell everyone they slept in a large, fully equipped tent.

Finally, the campsite will be ideal for families who are already used to travelling with their tent, caravan or motorhome.

Whichever accommodation they choose, families can enjoy the facilities and activities on offer at Camping Le Rousieux: swimming pool, paddling pool, water slide, open spaces, pony rides and entertainment, depending on the season and the campsite’s programme.

What sort of accommodation should you choose for a couple’s holiday?

When planning a romantic getaway for two in the Tarn, your choice depends mainly on the atmosphere you’re looking for.

The safari lodge is particularly well suited to couples looking for a unique and exotic experience. It offers the chance to get closer to nature and step outside the traditional framework of a holiday let.

The small mobile home offers a more traditional and practical solution. It provides accommodation suitable for two people, complete with all the facilities needed to organise your stay as you wish.

The wooden chalet may also appeal to couples looking for a cosier atmosphere and comfortable accommodation in the heart of the campsite.

Finally, fans of traditional camping can choose a pitch to set up their tent or park their vehicle and enjoy a simple break in the great outdoors.

Which accommodation should you choose, depending on your budget?

The budget depends on several factors: the time of year, the length of stay, the number of people, the type of accommodation and the facilities chosen.

A campsite pitch is generally the most economical option for holidaymakers who already have their own equipment.

The safari tent offers a unique and comfortable form of accommodation whilst retaining the spirit of camping.

Mobile homes come in a range of comfort levels and sizes, allowing you to choose a model that suits both the number of guests and your budget.

The wooden chalet, for its part, offers a cosier experience and fully equipped accommodation.

To find out the exact price of each package, the easiest way is to check availability based on your travel dates.

Why choose Le Rousieux Campsite for your holiday in the Tarn?
